Protective Hairstyle: Crochet Braid Twist

7:00:00 AM

Summers and winters are brutal on our beautiful crown glory-our hair. The high intensity of  the heat or cold is drying to our hair and our precious ends became all ragged and useless. Luckily for us there is something called protective hairstyles and one of my favorite is crochet braiding.

Crochet Braid Twist

Materials Needed:

  1. Latch Hook
  2. Marley Braid
  3. Scissor
  4. Shea butter
  5. Wide Teeth Comb
  6. Tail comb
  7. Hair thread
  8. Hair needle

Instructions:

Part your hair in half (from ear to ear), clip away the back section. With the front section, part and cornrow going back at least 8. With the back section, part and cornrow going side to side, at least 4. After cornrowing, overlap the end of your hair then take the needle and threat and start sewing the hair down.

Garb a portion of the Marley braid and fold it in half. Wrap the hair around the latch and close it. Pull the hair through the cornrow, but don't pull it all the way through-this such make a hoop. Pull it just enough so you can unlock the latch, make a double knot and pull it back out. Apply some Shea Butter before twisting. Work your way from the bottom to the top.

When you are finish you with have a natural looking fabulous protective hairstyle for whether it is summer or winter or whenever!

Happy styling!
