Coconut Oil: From The Frying Pan & Into Everything Else
You have probably heard and seen the words coconut oil floating around a lot lately and there is a good reason for that. This stuff can do just about anything. Except lower bad cholesterol, that is.
You might have heard that this is a healthy fat to eat but that is not exactly true. In fact, this oil has 92% saturated fat, which is the bad kind. But, and this is a big one, when it comes to beauty, I am talking head to toe beauty, this oil is practically a miracle in a jar.
Here are five creative and unexpected ways to use coconut oil:

1) Shaving
If you have sensitive or dry skin and you hate using shaving creams and gels then this one is for you. Men and women alike can use coconut oil to shave with. Just smooth it over the area you are going to shave and go to town. It is gentle and high in moisture so you won’t have to worry about razor burn or dry skin.

2) Makeup remover
If you are sick of paying those high-end prices for chemicals that strip your skin just to get rid of a tiny layer of makeup then take note. This all natural oil is one of the gentlest, most effective ways to wipe off the day's makeup. Not only does it work better than those pricey brands, it goes a lot farther too so remember to use very little.

3) Make your own toothpaste
If you are into homemade beauty tips or even if you aren’t this is a great place to start. Just mix some baking soda together with the oil until it makes a paste, add a few drops of any type of mint oil you enjoy and brush. It’s as simple and all natural as that.

4) Prevent stretch marks
Ugh. Stretch marks, no one likes those guys. If you are pregnant start putting coconut oil on your belly regularly before the stretch marks appear to keep the skin soft and elastic. This can prevent stretch marks from forming. If you have already noticed some marks, it’s never too late. Even if you start putting the oil on now, it could help keep the marks from stretching further as well as lessen their appearance.

5) Diaper cream
You are never too young to start your beauty routine, are you? Most diapers creams have some pretty harsh chemicals in them but not coconut oil. It is a natural antibacterial agent that will also keep your baby’s new skin feeling soft and moisturized.
As you can see there is so much more you can do with all natural coconut oil besides using it to cook with. These five tips will give you a great jumping off point to start working more natural and healthy choices into your health and beauty routines.
