5 Mindblowing Home Remedies for Blackheads
7:00:00 AMBlackheads are pores that are enlarged due to clogging. The pore is clogged because of the overproduction of oil in the skin, dirt and bacteria, that mixture darken due to oxidation.
The following are five (5) ways on how to naturally remove blackheads at home.
1. Steaming
- 2 cups of boiling water
- small bowl with a rim wider than the circumference your face (2" +).
- Add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil into your steaming water.
2. Tomato Mask
- 1 medium tomato, mashed
Start off with freshly washed face. Apply to affected areas. Rub on face for 2 minutes then leave for 15 minutes. Wash off then pat dry.
NB// If you have dry skin, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
3. Lemon/Lime Juice
- Lemon/lime juice, freshly squeezed
- cotton ball
Start off with freshly washed face. Take a cotton ball and soak it in the lime/ lemon juice then rub to affected areas before bed. Rinse off with cold water in the morning.
NB// Lemon/Lime has anti-bacteria properties and is effective in shrinking pores. The juice will make your skin sensitive to the sun, so use sunscreen. If your skin is sensitive to the juice, dilute with water.
4. Baking Soda and Water Paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of cool water
Mix ingredients into a thick paste. Start off with freshly washed face. Massage onto face in a circular motion. Rinse off with cold water. Pat dry then moisturize.
NB// Baking Soda is a good exfoliant. It has a high pH level which can dry your skin out, so make sure you moisturize after use and don't over do it.
5. Egg White Mask
- 1 egg white
- facial tissue
Start of with freshly washed face. Apply a layer of egg white onto facial tissue then press to face. Apply up to 3 to 5 layers on face. When mask is dried, peel off. Gently wash off residue from face then pat dry.
NB// Egg white tightens pores temporarily, it doesn't remove only prevents, it is very moisturizing and very nitrating. Make sure each layer is dried before adding another layer and removing.
