I hate removing the decorations from the Christmas tree. Every year a new package of Christmas ornaments are bought and best believe every one of them goes on the tree, so all you see it decorations...you would be lucky to see a branch!

DIY Christmas Tree for Small Spaces

This DIY Christmas Tree is an alternative for a small space that is basically cheap and easy. It adds a rustic element to you space by bring the outdoors in.

Materials:

Dried branches
Sisal Rope
Embellishments (pom poms, snowflakes shaped LED lights)
Stick Star
Double-sided Tape

Methods:

-Wash and thoroughly dry branches to remove any debris.

- Lay them out and make a gradient size pattern, from smallest to large.

- Tie each branch to one another, going down, on each side.

- Add embellishments.

NB// Add light weight embellishments so that you do not put much strain on the structure.

- To hang to the wall, add double-sided tape to various parts of the back off the branches then hang it up.

Christmas Pet Safety Guides

Securely anchor your tree, your pets are curious creatures remember that.

Avoid decorating the tree with tinsel, string, ribbons and chains where your pets can reach them. They tend to ingests things when you aren't monitoring them.

Keep edible, breakable and glass ornaments far from your pets reach.

Keep your pets from drinking the tree's stand water but if you cannot do that make sure you do not use any toxic tree preservative products.

Sweep up pine needles to prevent ingestion or your pet getting struck by them.

Aviod giving your pets human food instead you can make healthy pet Christmas recipes.

Don't give your pets a surprise gift.

Remember that must plants are poisonous like amaryllis, mistletoe, Lilies, holly and poinsettia, so make them far from your pets.

Loud, sudden sounds can make your pets panic like balloons and champagne popping, poppers, fire works, etc.

Small decorations that are easy to swallow should be kept away from pets.

Remember chocolate is toxic to almost all pets so avoid giving them.

If you are traveling with your pets make sure they have a seat beat to keep them safe. Car accidents increase during manger holidays like Christmas.

Protect electric cords and flashing lights from pets so that they don't attack or chew on them.

Remove all wrapping paper and plastics from the floors so that pets would play or chew on them.

Jamaican Christmas Pudding

In Jamaica there is no such thing as a 'white' Christmas, so we don't serve our Christmas Pudding or Cake hot. The prunes, raisins, dates and currants are usually soaked in real Jamaican rum (Red Label Wine) for months or years.

This recipe makes approximately 4 lb. of cake, that is enough to fill a 9" baking pan.

Ingredients:

4 cups mixed dried fruits soaked in rum (prunes, raisins, dates and currants)
1 cup white rum
6 oz bread crumbs
6 oz flour
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. dark sugar
6 eggs
1 tbsp browning
1 tbsp mixed spice
1 tbsp cinnamon extract
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp lime juice
1 tsp lime or orange rind
1 tsp almond flavoring
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Method:

-Line the baking pan with grease paper and / or shortening.

-Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

-Mix in browning, almond, lime juice and rind, cinnamon, vanilla.

-Add eggs one at a time then fruits.

-Mix breadcrumbs, flour, baking powder, salt and mixed spice in bowl.

-Combine both mixture and rum by folding in.

-Pour into baking pan.

-Bake for 1 hours at 350 degrees (Emerge baking pan in a 1" of water in the oven).

1. Peppermint

1 whole milk+ 1/2 cup chocolate chips+ 1 tsp. peppermint extract

2. Orange

1 cup milk+ 1/2 tbsp + 1/2, grated orange zest + 2 oz dark chocolate

3. Vegan

1 cup vanilla almond milk + 1-1/2 unsweetened cocoa powder + 2 tsp coconut palm sugar

4. Peanut Butter Chocolate

1 cup milk + 1/2 cup heavy cream + 4 oz milk chocolate, chopped + 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

5. Nutella

1 cup whole milk + 2 tbsp nutella + 1 tbsp cocoa + pinch of salt

6. Pumpkin Spice

1 tsp maple syrup + 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice + 1 cup whole milk + 1 tsp unsweetened dark cocoa

7. Aztec Chocolate

1 cup milk + 5oz. chopped dark chocolate + 1/4 tsp. cinnamon + tiny pinch Cayenne

8. Irish Chocolate

1 cup milk + 1/2 cup chocolate chips + 2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream

9. Caramel

1/2 cup milk + 5 oz milk chocolate, chopped + 1/4 cup heavy cream + 3 tbsp caramel sauce

10. Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

2 cups + 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate + vanilla sugar + 1/2 tsp red gel food coloring

11. Mint Chocolate

2 cups milk + 1/2 cup white chocolate + 4 drops mint extract

12. Cinnamon Chocolate

2 cups milk + 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate + 2 TBSP cinnamon powder + 1 tsp mixed spice

13. Lavender White

1 cup whole milk + 1/4 tsp. lavender buds + 1/2 cup white chocolate chips + 1 tsp vanilla extract

14. Coconut

1 cup coconut milk + 1/4 white chocolate + 1/4 coconut flakes (toasted)

How to Host a Ugly Sweater Party?

The Ugly Sweater Party phenomenon as been around since the mid
90's. This is a celebration of the most dreadfully hideous but corky and funny sweaters that are usually based off of a Christmas or Winter theme. This is a step by step way how to throw the ultimate party.

1. Invitations

This is one of the most important of first impression of your party. This will make or break your party. Make them fun and interesting, bring out your inner crazy when designing, using witty phases and funny pictures.

2. Decoration

One of the best advise I can give you is when decorating, keep it to a minimum. The decor must look effortless, simple, collective, corky and fun.

I recommend you display your food and booze in a buffet style self-serve, this will set a causal and relaxed setting for your guest.

3. Activities

The best part of a ugly sweater party, besides the food and happily making a fool out of yourself, is the judging of the ugliest sweater. I live for this! You can set up a poll on who will win and the winner(s) will receive prizes, trophies or a gift certificate plus bragging rights. Imagine you trying your best to come in the ugliest outfit ever without shame!

4. Photo Booth

What is the point of wearing a ugly sweater if you cannot embarrassing yourself more by posting it all on social media. Yeah, it's fun using your phone to take a picture and all but where is the fun in that. Why not have a festive backdrop to go with that dreadful sweater?
